Create the overall digital user experience for the dashboard of the Concept S-Class Coupe show car.
Design and develop a world clock for a
touchscreen in the center console.
UX Research
Research on what luxury means in the digital age. How can mood be expressed in a digital user interface. How do users expect different time zones to be represented.
Experience Concept
A progressive digital instrument cluster as well as a head-unit provide a sensual digital luxury experience. In collaboration with Gracenote we developed a mood based music browser.
A visualization of the Magic Body Control technology shows how the car smoothens your ride. The map turns into a real 3D space and provides only contextually relevant information to the user.
The typical driver would be a successful, globally connected person. A world clock in the center console allows to keep track of the different time zones around the world.
Interaction Design
The interaction with the head-unit is touch pad based and allows to easily swipe through different menus. The world clock in the center console is touch screen based. Long press on one of the clocks brings the user to the settings menu. Rotate the globe, zoom in and out and select one of the major cities around the world that represent the time zone you’re interested in.
Visual Design
Resembling a modern yacht, the digital visual language references some of the significant materials and patterns used throughout the interior of the car. It underlines the interiors clean elegance.
